CANTERBURY - Malcolm "Mac" L. Eddy, 74, died Thanksgiving evening, at Concord Hospital.
He was born in Burlington, Vt., the son of George and Carolyn (Merrill) Eddy. He grew up in Burlington, and attended the University of Vermont before and after serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
After the war, he and his family lived in Beverly, Mass., and Attleboro, Mass., before he retired to Canterbury.
He had a long and successful mechanical engineering career, working at Sylvania, Baird Atomic and Raytheon for many years.
He enjoyed camping, travel, music and reading.
In addition to his mother, Carolyn Drew of Burlington, Vt., he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Emily "Molly" (Glover) Eddy; two sons, Douglas Eddy of Windham and Robert Eddy of Randolph, Vt.; two daughters, Jane Lillie of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Sarah Ward of San Diego; eight grandchildren; a brother, John Eddy of Manchester, Conn., and numerous nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held tomorrow at 1:30 a.m. in the Canterbury United Community Church. The Rev. William Daniels, pastor, will officiate.

The Bennett Funeral Home in Concord is in charge of arrangements.
